We are currently living in a time of ever increasing living costs. The rapidly rising cost of oil has a huge impact on the cost of food. It is costing increasingly more to produce and transport. Even the plastic bags and plastic packaging has an increased cost. The current economic climate also has many fearing the loss of their jobs. Because of these and other reasons, the UK consumer is now much more sensitive to the cost of their shopping basket than they have been for a long time.
But where ever there is a problem there is often a solution not far behind. mySupermarket or mySuperMarket.co.uk is a portal that aims to let the consumer get the best prices for their essential supermarket items. Not only that, but once you have selected your cheapest shopping basket at one of the key UK supermarkets (Tesco, Sainsburys, Asda and Ocado (Waitrose)) you can have the items delivered to your door at your convenience.
A lot of the leading UK supermarkets are very proud of their claims to offer cheap prices against the competition. They all employ teams of people to visit their competitor’s stores and check their prices. They then proudly report that they are cheaper than a competitor for a certain product. This can be useful, but a lot of supermarkets and shops in general operate a system called “loss leaders”. This is where they heavily discount a product to the point that they may even make a loss in order to drive people to their stores. They then make money by capitalising on the customer’s presence in their store to sell them further items at healthy profit margins.
MySupermarket offers all of the benefits of discovering the cheapest prices without the risk of getting hit by the higher margin items while you are in the store. It is a really easy website to use and offers a number of key benefits;
· Easily compare prices at the UK’s leading supermarkets
· Save money on your food shopping
· Reduce the calories on the products that you purchase
· Save time by having your food delivered to your home

MySupermarket is so easy to use. Simply register for an account and login. You can then choose which UK supermarket you would like to shop with from Tesco, Sainsburys, Asda and Ocado (Waitrose). Then all you need to do is browse the departments online and choose your shopping.
As you choose your shopping, the top of the screen will display the cost of a comparable basket at one of the alternative supermarkets. MySupermarket will give you the option of combining different items from different supermarkets so that you can get the cheapest possible combination of products.
Then you simply check out and pay for your items and select your desired delivery times and dates. Easy!

I’ve used MySupermarket a couple of times, and love the fact you can chop and change items from different Supermarkets to find them as cheap as possible - If only there was an offline equivalent!
